Most kids want a dog at some point during their childhood. However, for many families a living, breathing (pooping!) animal just isn't an option. If it's getting harder to say no to your child's request for a pet, then Fur Real Friends Biscuit, My Lovin Pup by Hasbro may just be the perfect gift idea.
This adorable toy dog is the newest addition to the Fur Real Friends line of toys. It is fully interactive and is ready to entertain your child for hours straight out of the box. The package includes Biscuit, a collar and tag, dog bone, a brush for grooming and an adoption certificate which can be registered online. He comes programmed with behaviors such as nods, whimpers, barks and tail wagging - all of which are very realistic.
For even more realism, Biscuit is capable of recognizing your child's voice and knows six commands including sit, speak and lie down. I think one of the cutest tricks is when Biscuit shakes hands on demand. And when he sits up and begs, it is sure to melt even the coldest of hearts.
A Few Considerations
There is no doubt that Fur Real Friends Biscuit is an appealing toy with pleading eyes and a coat that is soft to the touch. At nearly two feet in height, this oversized plush toy may be difficult for smaller children to carry around. This doesn't mean a small child won't fully enjoy this interactive pet, but this is certainly something to think about. Biscuit also requires 6 D batteries, which you will need to remember to pick up since they are not included in the box.
The Technology Behind Biscuit
You may be wondering how Biscuit knows to interact with your child. It's all in his nine sensors. For example, if Biscuits left paw is touched, he will raise his paw to shake hands with you. If given the command "speak," he will bark in response. And if something is waved in front of the sensor in his forehead, he will respond by flinching, sneezing or blinking.
Biscuit My Lovin Pup will choose various interaction modes based upon how much interaction he is receiving. After a short while of not being interacted with, Biscuit enters "hangout" mode where he will do some cute behaviors to try to grab your attention. If he doesn't receive some attention for a determined amount of time, he will next lay down and go to sleep.
With his many sensors and behaviors, it is not difficult to see why this sophisticated, interactive dog is considered to be one of the most innovative toys of the year. With movements and sounds that are both life-like and realistic, Fur Real Friends Biscuit, My Lovin' Pup is sure to delight and entertain your child for a long time to come.
